Diddordebau Ymchwil

Mae ymchwil yr Athro Gathercole yn canolbwyntio ar nifer o feysydd cysylltiedig:
(A) prosesau sy’n sail i gaffaeliad iaith, a swyddogaethau cymhlethdod cystrawennol, cymhlethdod gwybyddol, amlder mewnbwn a newidynnau cymdeithasol;  
(B) ymchwil ar draws ieithoedd a’r hyn a ddatgelir ganddi;  
(C) caffael ystyr geiriau;
(D) caffael Sbaeneg, Saesneg a Chymraeg;
(E) caffael iaith gan siaradwyr dwy iaith a chan rai sy’n dysgu ail iaith;
